We help you navigate the process of understanding your child’s developmental needs smoothly
At the Dialog Centre, we complement the public healthcare provision by offering parents and teachers a rapid diagnostic pathway and ensuring that the results are directly translated into day-to-day support for the child.
How we work
One team, consistent standards, continuity of care, even after diagnosis.
The Dialog Centre for Children and Families is a team of specialists who work together, following a common diagnostic protocol, so that the family receives a single, coherent assessment of their child, rather than a collection of unrelated opinions from several different organisations.

Recognised diagnostic opinions
A counselling centre whose assessments are recognised by nurseries, schools and the Central Examination Board (CKE).
As we meet stringent educational requirements, the assessments issued by our Private Psychological and Pedagogical Counselling Centre (44P) are recognised by educational institutions and the Central Examination Board in the process of educational and examination adjustments (including for dyslexia). We provide rapid access to certified diagnostic assessments, guaranteeing the highest professional standards and full compliance with formal and legal requirements.

Nursery
3 months – 3 years
Early indicators and the greatest flexibility in shaping development
The nursery age is a time when early signs of difficulties are hard to spot, but crucial for diagnosis. These include speech delays, a lack of eye contact and feeding difficulties. Early observation offers the best chance of providing effective support for a toddler’s development.

The peer group as a reflection of visible difficulties
In nursery, many developmental differences only become apparent when children are compared with their peers. Difficulties with settling in, communication or managing emotions may indicate specific needs. It is also the ideal time to assess a child’s readiness for school before they start Year 1.

Research reveals differences, whilst diagnosis explains their causes
New educational and social challenges are emerging at school. Difficulties with learning, concentration or peer relationships often have underlying causes. An accurate diagnosis of dyslexia, ADHD or autism spectrum disorder paves the way for appropriate adjustments at school and targeted therapy.

Adolescence brings new challenges and is often when a diagnosis is first made
The pressure of exams and increasing independence often bring to light difficulties that had previously gone unnoticed. A diagnosis during adolescence can confirm the family’s fears. A diagnosis of ADHD, autism spectrum disorder or dyslexia is a crucial step towards obtaining support and adjustments for the A-level exams.

Clear diagnostic criteria
All assessments carried out at the Dialog Centre for Children and Families are conducted in accordance with clearly defined diagnostic standards and procedures. The scope of the consultations, the tools used and the method of preparing the report are tailored to the type of assessment being carried out and the professional standards we have adopted.
If a parent or carer wishes to modify the standard diagnostic process or make changes to the document issued following the diagnosis, this must be agreed in advance with the diagnostician. Any actions going beyond the standard scope of the service require the booking of further consultations and are subject to an additional charge in accordance with the current price list.
