AI consultation

A consultation with a sensory integration therapist is often the first step towards starting a diagnosis or therapy in this area.

It is recommended primarily for children, but may also be helpful for young people who experience difficulties with sensory processing and everyday functioning.

At the Dialog Centre for Children and Families, sensory integration consultations are conducted by experienced therapists who work with children and young people.

During the meeting:

• we gather information on how the child responds to various sensory stimuli, such as touch, sound, light and movement

• we discuss the child’s development and how they cope at home and at school

• Based on the information gathered, we propose a preliminary sensory integration therapy plan, tailored to individual needs

• we provide guidance on how to support your child in everyday situations and in a variety of settings

The consultation takes place with a parent or carer present, without the child being there.
